Second Edition Available Now!!

Second Edition Available Now!!

I have published the cards in a second edition with the Hong Kong based Print on Demand company, MakePlayingCards, releasing both a Large size (89 X 146 mm or 3.5” X 5.75”) and a Poker size (89 X 146mm or 2.48” X 3.46”). They are printed on premium 330gsm smooth card stock, which gives rich true colours and high definition. This is particularly important with the Poker size, as reducing such detailed imagery to a small size requires very clear definition to do it justice.

Cards are printed in sheets, which means that in the Poker size, 90 cards cost the same to produce as 78. I realised I could use these spare 12 cards to reproduce the booklet information from the first edition, and so the Poker deck comes with a booklet in card form. The options for a printed booklet in the Poker size were too small to be useful and so this is the only way I could have included it. There is also a signature card and two bonus art cards. You can see previews of every single card if you click on see preview at the deck page.

The Large deck comes with 80 cards, the two extras being a signature card and a Qabalah key guide that complements the eight page folding booklet, which contains all the other key information and is also signed. People seemed to want signatures so I did my best on that this time.

I decided to forego boxes, but I intend to create custom designed pouches that people can order separately. A tarot deck that is used is usually kept in a bag, preferably silk. Only ones that gather dust on shelves need boxes, and above all I want this to be a deck that people love to use.

I am happy to send anyone who contacts me the pdf of the User Guide. The only condition is that you will be added to my mailing list. Its best to use my gmail, because I am having trouble with my Asherah Tarot email. Take the opportunity while you can, because once I format and re edit the book to make an ebook and print version I will stop giving it away.

I hope you enjoy this new version!
Kind Regards

  1. Dear Sarah,

Will this second edition be on thicker cardstock than the first?

I adore my large deck, but if this is thicker will buy it as well!

    Many THanks!

    • Hi Vanessa,
It is a thicker card stock. The first edition was 305gsm and this is 330gsm, and a very nice smooth finish. I am very pleased with the colours and picture quality too.

    Hi Sarah,
I have the first edition and love it except for the thinness the card stock, so I ordered the large size of the 2nd edition. The card stock is definitely improved, however I am disappointed in the color saturation and definition of the printing. I feel that the 1st edition is more vibrant and has more depth. The 2nd edition, in comparison is washed out and some of the detail is lost.
Please let me know what you think. I was going to give away my 1st edition but now I think I’m going to stick with it and try to sell the new one.

    • Hi Jamie,
I just received a deck two days ago with the same problem and I contacted them and sent photos of the difference between the original deck they sent (lovely colours) and this new one. They agreed to reprint mine, and I have just messaged them and asked them if they will reprint other people with the same problem. No reply as yet, but I don’t think could hurt for you to email them and request a reprint. Very annoyed about the sudden changes between my first samples and the second, and they did admit to reseting their machines. If this problem isn’t sorted I will pull out from their company. Please let me know what your response is.
      Kind Regards

  3. Hi
I’m planning on getting this Deck this year through make playing cards. I was wondering where to get the bag mentioned above, or if they had been made yet, or if they will be this year. (I’m keeping an eye out for tarot bags basically and it there are custom ones that pair with a deck I’d rather use that).

    • Hi,
I’m hoping to start sewing bags this winter, and will announce more details about that in the near future. If you email me at, I will add you to my list and send you a free copy of the guidebook pdf. Thanks for your interest! 🙂
      Kind Regards
